About Us

About Us

In Nigeria and most African countries, natural habitats and ecosystems have been devastated due to bush burning, pollution, urbanisation systems, poaching, climate change and unorganised farming practices.

To mitigate the devastating consequences of these hazards and reckless degradation of our flora and fauna resources, conscious efforts must be made now to save our future.

It is for these reasons that Crest Nature Park was established as a serene urban tourist centre with concentration on these five areas below:

  1. Balanced ecosystem and environmental protection
  2. Recreation, retreat for meditation and holiday centres
  3. Preservation of nature formations, topography, flora and fauna
  4. Conservation and multiplication of endangered and endemic medicinal plants and economic  trees.
  5. Youth skill acquisition and training for future generations on appreciation and application of natural and environmental provisions.
Our Vision & Mission

Our Vision Statement

To develop a nature park from an existing fascinating 500 acre land piece, to a self-sustaining memorable tourist and knowledge centre, where visitors would visit repeatedly to savour interplay of Nigerian Culture and nature at its best.

Dr. & Mrs. Roland Ehigiamusoe

Our Founders

Crest Nature Park is a legacy park founded by Dr. & Mrs. Roland Ehigiamusoe in 2021.

Dr. Ehigiamusoe is one of the Nigerian experts for plant identification and utilisation in Nigeria. He is a renowned research scientist, traditionalist, farmer, industrialist and a one-time pro-chancellor of the University of Calabar, Nigeria.

Dr. Ehigiamusoe’s book, ‘A Herbarium of Nigerian Medicinal Plants’, can be described as the Bible of herbal and medicinal plants for trado-medical practitioners and even researchers who are serious about pharmacology advancements.

A Herbarium of Nigerian Medicinal Plants

The Book ‘A Herbarium of Nigerian Medicinal Plants’ is a 573 page compendium for herbal medicine practitioners and educators who will benefit from the 70 year knowledge bank and experience of Dr. Ehiagiamusoe. The Book is a veritable delight for herbalists, educationists, research scientists especially pharmacologists, nutritionists, pharmacists, chemists, biochemists, doctors, environmentalists, flora and fauna conservators and culture promoters.

It consists of four (4) chapters:

  1. The Herbarium which features photographic representation of 526 medicinal plants, each with its botanical name, uses and local names (Benin, Yoruba, Ibo, Hausa) for identification.
  2. Methods of preparation of various herbal medicine.
  3. Problems and cautions in practices of herbalism.
  4. The nature of plants and boundary between Christianity and Idolatry in herbalism.

Our 2023 Action Plan

It is gratifying to note that a lot has been achieved at Crest Nature Park within only two years of its inception. A 500-acre land ideal for a green park has been successfully acquired, and the constructions, plantings and other features in the Park as detailed on this website have been achieved.

Here are our plans for this year, 2023 and we would love to have you onboard to support our vision.

  1. Align with the Nigerian Conservation Foundation’s (NCF) focus on Strategic Action Plan 2021-2025 for Climate Change and campaign to sensitise Nigerians, especially the rural communities, hunters and trado-medical practitioners/doctors on the need to save endangered plant and animal species.
  2. Construct a swimming pool attached to the ‘Healing Spring’ near the existing Holy Trinity Temple.
  3. Prepare construction sites for:
  • Edo Herbal Medicine Research Centre
  • Conference hall and a utility hall for workshops
  • Additional guest houses
  1. Transfer the medicinal and economic tree seedlings already in our nursery.
  2. Raise medicinal and economic plant seedlings for year 2024 and seek seeds and seedlings from individuals and organisations outside the Park’s environment.
